Tom Lake Book Discussion

Tuesday, March 31, 2026 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Tom Lake - A Special Book Discussion at the library.

Join us for a thoughtful discussion of Ann Patchett’s bestselling novel Tom Lake, presented in preparation for Cedar Creek Players’ opening performances of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town at the Cedarburg Cultural Center in April.

Set against a summer stock production of Our Town, Tom Lake explores youthful love, ambition, memory, and the quiet beauty of ordinary life.

This discussion will explore the powerful connections between Patchett’s novel and Wilder’s timeless play — from the passage of time and the nature of memory to the tension between youthful passion and enduring love.

Whether you’ve read the novel, seen the play, or simply love rich conversations about literature and theater, we invite you to join us.
